The Mission of
Tender Grace

Statement of Faith

The Mission of Tender Grace Preamble:

The Mission of Tender Grace exists to reflect the heart of God—bringing light into darkness, healing to the wounded, and tangible expressions of Christ’s love to our community and beyond. Rooted in historic Christian faith, we embrace a "middle way" (Via Media) that bridges the Catholic and Protestant traditions. We unite deep sacramental worship, historical continuity, and communal responsibility with a passionate, grace-centered proclamation of the Gospel.

Core Tenets of Faith

1. The Triune God

We believe in one sovereign, eternal God, existing in three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, perfectly holy, infinitely wise, and defined entirely by love and grace.

2. The Authority of Scripture and Sacred Tradition

We believe the Holy Bible—Old and New Testaments—is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, serving as our final rule for faith and practice. Alongside Scripture, we value the wisdom of historic Christian tradition, the ecumenical creeds, and the collective witness of the Church universal through the ages as vital guides for understanding God’s truth.

3. Humanity, Sin, and Grace

We believe that all people are created in the image of God with inherent dignity, worth, and a sacred calling. However, through human rebellion (sin), humanity became fractured and separated from God. We believe that salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ, which naturally inspires a life of active love, transformation, and good works.

4. Jesus Christ: Savior, Priest, and King

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, truly divine and truly human, born of the Virgin Mary. Through His sinless life, His suffering, His death on the cross, and His bodily resurrection, He accomplished our redemption. He is our unique Mediator, offering reconciling grace to all humanity

5. Sacramental Life and Means of Grace

We believe that God communicates His grace to us through active faith, prayer, and the corporate life of the Church—including the historic sacraments (such as Holy Baptism and the Holy Eucharist/Communion). These sacred rites are outward and visible signs of inward, spiritual grace, nourishing the body of Christ and uniting us together in His healing presence.

6. The Communion of Saints and Life of Prayer

We believe in the communion of saints—the fellowship of all believers, living and departed, united in Christ. Following ancient Christian custom, we cherish the fellowship of heaven and practice the seven daily prayers, lifting our hearts to God while asking the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the holy saints to sustain us in our daily walk.

7. The Ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Church

We believe the Church is the one, holy, catholic (universal), and apostolic body of Christ. Indwelt by the Holy Spirit, the Church is called to live out the Gospel in both word and deed. Following the example of Jesus, our mission is to move toward the hurting, defend the vulnerable, and offer practical, tender actions of grace to a world in deep need of physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

8. The Hope of Restoration

We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to consummate His kingdom, judge the living and the dead, and bring about the final renewal of all creation. We look forward to the resurrection of the body and life everlasting, where God's tender grace will be fully realized in an eternal communion of love.

The Vows of Life and Service

For our clergy, brothers, and sisters who commit to the consecrated life within the Mission of Tender Grace, our foundation is built upon four sacred vows:

Poverty: Living simply, holding all things in common, and relying completely on Divine Providence so that we are free from the tangles of materialism to serve with open hands.

Chastity: Consecrating our hearts, bodies, and affections entirely to God, offering an undivided love that becomes a pure channel for Christ’s compassion to others.

Obedience: Listening deeply to the voice of God, submitting to the rule of the community, and following the path of humble servanthood modeled by Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve.

Serving the Poor of the Poor: Committing ourselves completely to walking alongside, lifting up, and fiercely loving the most marginalized, forgotten, and destitute in our society—recognizing the face of Jesus in the least of these.

Our Operational Motto:

"Reaching hearts with compassion, anchored in historic truth, and extending His tender grace to everyone we serve."
